North Korea has fired a missile over Japan into the Pacific Ocean.

By doing this they unnerved the Japanese, rattled world leaders, injected uncertainty into world markets and sparked fears of a nuclear showdown. 

So, how should Washington and its allies respond to this provocation?

Christopher Hill headed the US delegation in talks to dismantle North Korea’s nuclear program during the George W. Bush presidency and he explains what we can realistically expect from all sides.
